Do I get a receipt?
Yes, we’ll send a receipt to the email address you provide when donating. The receipt will include your donation details, such as the date, amount, and any beneficiary information. We will also include your sponsorship gifts in your end-of-year tax summary mailed each January.

HEALTH AND NUTRITION WILD CARD
We provide ongoing and lifesaving health care at low or no cost to people in over 50 villages. Your generous gift will fill this critical need by allowing us to provide treatments that can range from treating families for parasites to intervening to save a limb or a life.
Support Budding Artists
At Local Hope, more than 100 children receive art instruction. Students build confidence and pride as they express themselves through their artwork. Your gift of $50 will underwrite a full month of professional instruction and supplies for 20 developing artists.
Snacks and Tools for Preschool Students
Just $40 will fuel education for 25 preschoolers with learning materials and nutritional snacks for a month to help them succeed in school and in life!
Computer Certificate Programs
Local Hope’s Computer Lab awards certificates in computer skills spanning programming to graphic design. Each time contributions total $500, we can offer a 3-month certificate program for 25 young people!
School Backpack and Supplies (Study Center)
We’ll hand-deliver a backpack to a child in need filled with notebooks, pencils, pens, erasers, colored markers, a calculator, and more!
EDUCATION WILD CARD
Education is the most powerful tool to help the young people of Guatemala develop self-reliance. Your tax-deductible contribution will provide not only access to education but health care for all students and a small supplement to the family to keep children from having to work.
Small Business Workshops
In a region with 80% unemployment, training in essential skills helps budding entrepreneurs create income locally. $250 covers costs for a workshop for 50 enthusiastic local entrepreneurs.
Help Fund a Teacher, Chef, Nurse or Doctor
Leadership Development
It’s a BIG job, and we’re committed to keeping our staff exceptionally well-equipped to serve. Your gift of $48 will fund a specialty training workshop for a talented young person.
Dress for Success
Our young people are excited to graduate and start their job search, but often, they can’t afford a dress and sweater, a suit and tie, appropriate shoes, and a work briefcase or backpack. Each $100 we raise will provide high school and college graduates with attire appropriate to the job they seek.
JOBS & CAREERS WILD CARD
Being able to earn a fair wage locally gives youth the choice to stay at home in the safety of their own village. Your gift, which can be used where most needed, empowers our staff to train young entrepreneurs and job seekers.
Services for Vulnerable Seniors
For every $100 gifted, we will provide a senior in need with a full year of regular medical exams, medicines, corrective lenses, dental care and supplementary food.
Transportation Saves Lives
Local Hope’s Xela AID Clinic regularly provides transportation for patients requiring surgery or emergency care at hospital facilities up to four hours away. Your gift of $50 will fund this important, sometimes life-saving service for two weeks, or double your donation to make it a full month!
Emergency Food - 1 Family, 1 Month
Almost daily, our staff meet families facing hunger. We’re committed to long-term solutions AND food security!
Safety Gear for Field Workers
About half the families we serve include a family member who works in the fields. Every time gifts add up to $100, we’ll provide protective clothing, boots, gloves, and goggles to reduce exposure to fertilizers and pesticides.
